Cheer Up Best Friends

Lately I’ve noticed some friends that have been down and out.  Between boys, school, and work, it’s definitely time for a girls night out.  As a prelude of a great night, here are some favs that I think might cheer these friends up and help them get through some difficult times.

Beauty around us…

Sometimes it’s hard to remember the good in our lives when we are caught up in the not-so-good.  This quote from Anne Frank reminds me that there is still so much around me that I should be grateful and happy for.

Hottie Alert!

This put a smile on my face.

A needed laugh

Every girl needs to hear this at times.

This would help after(I really mean during) a hard days work.

Who needs water?

Oh and this,

The Seductive Swan

1.5 oz Russian Standard Vodka

5 blackberries

3 oz Lemonade

Muddle four blackberries in bottom of a tumbler. Add ice, Russian Standard Vodka and lemonade. Garnish with remaining blackberry.

Reasons to dress up every day(not that I need one)

” If you show up looking a bit more glam than the rest, what’s the worst-case scenario? You look the best in the room?”

-Rachel Zoe

High Expectations

Not that it’s terrible to have high expectations of yourself and others around you, but I find myself expecting too much, worrying I won’t achieve the expectations, then beating myself up if I don’t.  I’ve learned to take a step back sometimes and just let myself breath for a minute or two…or 10.

I Wish..

What makes you happy?

Perspective.

“When you’re struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it’s just as hard as what you’re going through.”

-Nicholas Sparks

  1. Dear Victoria’s,

I have to say this post is glorious! So much of what I write about in my posts has an ending that seeks to do what this post has….give hope. Not everyday is what you want it to be, and you can’t control how people around you will react to you or treat you. It’s very important to know that when your dealing with problems, your not alone. In this world so big, there are people dealing with that very same problem or different problems feeling the same. I absolutely love the Anne Frank quote, it really does put a perspective on things when its coming from someone who has seen the deepest darkest part of humanity. In the back of our minds we must always remember that happiness and love come to those who are patient and appreciate what surrounds them! I love the way you think, and the care you take to cheer a friend!

    Love the perspective,

    The Empty
